I was dying to
hear
someone say
That I didn’t need
to try so hard to be perfect,
That i was enough
and
it was okay.
January: You’re never too old to experience heartbreak. People in their 40’s and 50’s go through break ups, too. Although these are often called “divorce” and involve a lot more paperwork.
February: It’s okay to cry about it. Whatever “it” is.
March: Saying goodbye to a place you once called home is very hard, but it’s not impossible. Pack your bags quickly, do not linger too long in the room you used to sleep in.
April: Enjoy the rain, it does not mean the sun will not return.
May: Flowers bloom again even after a long winter. When you’re mother’s only response to “How are you?” is “Okay” for many months, remember this. She’s going to be fine.
June: Home is what you make of it.
July: Turning 20 doesn’t mean you suddenly have to have everything figured out.
August: Death does not care that he has found himself on your doorstep before and locking the doors will not help.
September: “I will love you forever” doesn’t always mean “I will be in love with you forever”
October: Sometimes breaking traditions is a good thing.
November: Fill yourself with love, be selfish sometimes, allow yourself to be angry, but never for too long.
December: You can survive anything.
